"Cat Gets Its Tern: A Case Study of Predation
on a Threatened Coastal Seabird"

Illustration based on Claire N. Greenwell's, Michael C. Calver's and Neil R. Loneragan's research paper on how a single desexed, stray
cat decimated an endangered Fairy Tern Colony in Western Australia.

The non-profit Creature Conserve graciously invited me to develop and lead a two-part workshop geared towards elevating research papers through art. The goal was to encourage participants to connect with the emotional undertakings of researchers in the field while providing accurate portrayals of the information presented through their studies. Thanks to a presentation from Claire Greenwell about her experiences as a Fairy Tern researcher, and in conjunction with my illustration as a demo, participants received a fresh perspective on how to develop images parting from scientific knowledge.
